Registration

Registration opens February 14, 2017. Register online at mdrt.org/2017am. Check the Annual Meeting website regularly for program updates and speaker information.

Registration is open to 2017 approved members on a first-come, first-served basis. Members are encouraged to book their hotel room at the same time as registration.

All funds must be in U.S. dollars (USD) and should be paid by credit card through Experient, our third party registration site host.

Refunds, Cancellations and Visa Denials

Registration cancellation requests must be emailed to Experient at a mdrt@experient-inc.com. Requests for cancellation refunds should be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time in relation to the deadlines below to be eligible. All refunds will be issued in the original form of payment.

No requests for cancellations after May 20 will be valid.

Visa Denials

Members who are denied a United States visa are eligible to receive a full refund for the meeting registration fee only if official documentation of their visa denial is provided to MDRT at mdrt@experient-inc.com by June 3, 2017. MDRT cannot process refunds for visa denials received after June 3, 2017.

Hotels

Housing Information and Deadlines

Members are encouraged to reserve their hotel rooms early. Availability is not guaranteed, and housing closes prior to the meeting. Hotels will accept reservations on a space available basis, and the negotiated room rate is not guaranteed once the room block is filled. Members are able to reserve one room. Members must be registered for the meeting to secure a hotel room. The deadline to book a room at an MDRT official hotel is April 27, 2017.

Individuals registering for the Annual Meeting grant permission for MDRT, its housing agency and other designees to use the information contained in their registration in order to secure housing and to finalize their registration. Should individuals book direct with any official hotel and/or overflow hotel, the individuals authorize the hotel and MDRT, its housing agency and other designees to access the information contained in their registration.

Main Platform

Large session where ALL attendees gather. Don’t miss this program which features nonmember speakers with presentations chosen to inspire, motivate, educate and entertain attendees.

Cornerstone Presentations

Cornerstone Presentations provide attendees with the opportunity to customize Wednesday morning content to meet their needs. Attendees can choose from several concurrent Main Platform-quality presentations. Cornerstone presentations will be interpreted into multiple languages.

MDRT Speaks

Back by popular demand, attendees will gather for this session in the Main Platform room to hear a series of innovative and creative business concepts delivered in a variety of presentation formats. Come away from this fast-paced session with ideas to improve your productivity and business practices.

Idea Exchange

Sessions where a moderator facilitates audience members sharing their best sales, practice management and marketing ideas. Idea Exchanges are interactive sessions where the audience is encouraged to participate. Continue to check the website for schedule updates on Idea Exchanges.

Focus Sessions

Focus Sessions are open to all attendees and offer educational and technical content to help you stay on top of your game, professionally and personally. Focus Sessions feature member and nonmember industry experts and thought leaders who share their knowledge in a variety of content categories including Client Strategies and Sales Ideas, Wealth Management and Retirement Strategies, Marketing, Protection Products, Practice Management, Whole Person, and Top of the Table.

Echo Sessions

The Echo Sessions are engaging, conversational-style sessions led by facilitators who share a session’s highlights and takeaways, and lead the discussion on how to put the information to use for further professional development.

Special Sessions

These sessions provide attendees new tools and ideas for personal and professional development covering a variety of topics. They are longer sessions that allow more in depth exploration of a topic. Some require a fee to be paid at the time of registration. All require a ticket.



ConneXion Zone®

The most innovative part of the Annual Meeting is the ConneXion Zone, a hotbed of ideas and conversations. Since its inception in 2012, the ConneXion Zone has been the place to hear short, information packed sessions on a variety of topics in multiple languages. More than 200 sessions take place in different speaking areas, including the Speaker Zones, Big Idea Theater, Great Conversations and the Technology Zone. To stay on the cutting edge of innovation, the Technology Zone is continually changing and evolving. Learn how to apply technology in your business and personal life in the Technology Classroom, get hands-on help at the Technology Help Desk, and play with the latest tech gadgets in the Technology Playground.

MDRT Foundation

The MDRT Foundation is the philanthropic organization of MDRT and is a resource for all MDRT members around the globe. The MDRT Foundation provides opportunities for you to support charitable causes and organizations you care about, become a community charity leader and get to know some of the greatest industry leaders. During the Annual Meeting, you can get involved by donating to the 2017 Promise Appeal, which supports a charity that will be featured on the Main Platform.









PGA Volunteers

Enhance your meeting experience, network with colleagues and make new friends by becoming a Program General Arrangements (PGA) volunteer. PGA volunteers greet fellow members, check badges, direct attendees and assist in other vital roles during the Annual Meeting. The MDRT Annual Meeting is like no other — be an integral part of it! All volunteers should attend the PGA Orientation at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. During this orientation, you receive important details regarding your assignment. Please plan to arrive in Orlando in time to attend the orientation.

Ground Transportation


Major highway networks provide easy access for attendees to reach their meeting destination and for traveling in and around the Greater Orlando area. Primary roadways include Interstate 4, the Florida Turnpike (toll), Highway 528 (Beachline Expressway–toll), Highway 408 (East-West Expressway–toll), Highway 417 (Central Florida Greenway–toll) and State Road 429 (toll).

Orlando is just as accessible to get around without a vehicle. Orlando’s main train service is Amtrak, serving 29 Florida communities. Plus, the I-Ride Trolleys serve as a popular way to travel around the International Drive Resort Area year-round. In addition to taxi and limousine service to anywhere in the Greater Orlando area, the city’s LYNX bus system provides economical and dependable public transportation. Uber is also available in Orlando. For a leisurely spin around downtown Orlando, carriage rides and bicycle rickshaws are also available through local vendors.

General Information

Eligibility


The 2017 MDRT Annual Meeting is open to approved 2017 MDRT members. Submit your 2017 membership application as soon as possible. Aspirants enrolled in the MDRT Mentoring Program by March 1, 2017, may also be eligible. For more details on aspirant eligibility, visit mdrt.org/membership/mentoring.

Annual Meeting venue


The primary venue for the 2017 MDRT Annual Meeting is the Orange County Convention Center South Building located at 9899 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819.

Assisted-listening devices


Headsets for attendees requiring listening assistance will be available to members who request the service through early and advance registration.

Consent for use of photographic images and activity


Registration and attendance at or participation in MDRT meetings or other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to MDRT’s or its licensees’ use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant’s or attendee’s image and voice in photographs, videos, electronic reproductions and audio recordings of such events or activities.

Activity


By attending this meeting, you acknowledge that participation at the meeting and in all related activities are voluntary and optional, and that participation in any of these events are at your own risk. You agree to hold MDRT harmless from any claims, costs or expenses arising from any injury as a result.

Simultaneous interpretation


English is the official language of the 2017 MDRT Annual Meeting. MDRT provides simultaneous interpretation of Main Platform presentations and selected Focus Sessions (when at least 50 registered members have requested interpretation in a common language). MDRT provides simultaneous interpretation for a maximum of 12 languages. If more than 12 languages are requested, simultaneous interpretation will be provided in the first 12 languages that meet the 50-minimum requirement.

Requests for simultaneous interpretation must be made in advance at the time of registration. All requests for interpretation must be received on or before Monday, May 4, 2017.

MDRT provides interpretation headsets and receivers to all registered members who meet the above requirements. The availability of headsets and receivers is not guaranteed to members who did not request simultaneous interpretation when registering in advance or to those who register for the meeting on-site.







Annual Meeting Policies

Annual Meeting Rules of Conduct


1. Spouses, family members and friends of attendees may not be present at officially designated MDRT functions and events during the Annual Meeting, with the exception of family/spouse meetings, or with an exception voted on by the Executive Committee.
2. To receive Annual Meeting materials, all members and special guests must register at the MDRT Meeting Registration Desk.
3. Giving your badge to another person for purposes of admission to any Annual Meeting function is not permitted.
4. Promotion by members or nonmembers of any goods and services, except member sponsors and exhibitors under provisions of a signed Sponsors and Exhibitors Agreement and other than with the expressed written permission of the Executive Committee, is not permitted.
5. Members who furnish MDRT membership lists may be placing their membership in jeopardy. Likewise, the MDRT Membership Directory is not to be used or loaned for any commercial purpose or other reasons, nor is any portion of it to be reproduced without the expressed prior written permission of MDRT.
6. Recruiting or attempted recruiting of personnel or agents of one company or firm by persons of another company or firm is not permitted during the meeting or in connection therewith.
7. Audio or videotape recording or still photography of all sessions, including Main Platform, is not permitted.
8. Members who wish to use credit privileges at official MDRT hotels shall make such arrangements directly with the hotel. Where credit privileges are granted and used, full payment shall be made within 60 days from the first of the month following the Annual Meeting.
9. Any individual removing merchandise from the MDRT Store without paying for the merchandise will be asked to surrender their badge, thereby preventing them from attending the remainder of the meeting. The individual and incident will also be reported to the MDRT Ethics Committee for further action, possibly resulting in revocation of membership.
10. Members shall accept and conform to the Code of Ethics and to those rules of conduct which the Executive Committee may determine and publish for the conduct of those attending any such meeting. Adherence to these rules shall be required of members at all such meetings, including all functions, both formal and informal, during and in connection with official MDRT meetings.

Code of Ethics


Members of the Million Dollar Round Table should be ever mindful that complete compliance with and observance of the Code of Ethics of the Million Dollar Round Table shall serve to promote the highest quality standards of membership. These standards will be beneficial to the public and to the insurance and financial services profession. Therefore, as members you shall:

1. Always place the best interests of your clients above your own direct or indirect interests.
2. Maintain the highest standards of professional competence and give the best possible advice to clients by seeking to maintain and improve professional knowledge, skills and competence.
3. Hold in strictest confidence, and consider as privileged, all business and personal information pertaining to your clients’ affairs.
4. Make full and adequate disclosures of all facts necessary to enable your clients to make informed decisions.
5. Maintain personal conduct that will reflect favorably on the insurance and financial services profession and MDRT.
6. Determine that any replacement of an insurance or financial product must be beneficial for the client.
7. Abide by and conform to all provisions of the laws and regulations in the jurisdiction in which you do business.

Statement of Antitrust and Legal Compliance


There shall be no negative discussions of commercial companies or products. There shall be no discussion or activity for the purpose of any legal compliance preventing any person or persons from gaining access to any market or customer for goods and services, not any agreement or understanding to refrain from purchasing or using any material, equipment, services or supplies. There should be no discussion or activity that may be construed as forestalling or limiting research and development. We, of course, expect your consideration and full compliance with these guidelines, both while in attendance at this meeting and at all times in your business.

Anti-Harassment


MDRT is committed to providing a positive environment for its employees, members and other guests at all MDRT functions. It has been and remains MDRT’s policy to maintain an environment where every employee, member and guest is treated with respect and which is free from all forms of harassment based upon or related to sex, race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, age, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, military status, genetic information and any other characteristic protected by applicable law. This includes conduct that creates a hostile, intimidating or offensive environment based on these characteristics. Harassment of any employee, member or guest is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. Any individual who violates these requirements will be subject to appropriate remedial action which may include removal from the premises, termination of employment or termination of membership.

NOTE: Outside organizations often sponsor their own events concurrently with the MDRT Annual Meeting. MDRT does not sponsor these events. Only the events listed in the program book are sponsored by MDRT. MDRT claims no responsibility for the other events.
